Things to Do This May Long Weekend

Things to do in Guelph May long weekend by HomeLife Power Realty Inc.

Celebrate the unofficial first weekend of summer this Victoria Day! While it’s still technically spring, it’s usually the first weekend the weather is warm enough to head to the cottage, have a barbecue and generally get outdoors.

Here are some of HomeLife Power Realty Inc.’s suggestions for getting out and taking advantage of Guelph and Kitchener this May long weekend!

Donkey Open Days

Website

The donkey sanctuary opens its doors every Sunday from May through October. It’s a wonderful family activity where you can get out and meet the donkeys, connect with them through brushing, learn about their day-to-day-lives, sponsor a donkey or join them for a Donkey Talk. With trails and a pond, you can make a whole day of it!

Head to THE MUSEUM

Website

Kitchener’s THEMUSEUM is a premier destination for family fun and education! And for the May long weekend, there are lots of activities going on to enjoy. Children can learn about chemical reactions at the Science + You demonstrations, and create their own cabinet of curiosities at the Creation Station. THEMUSEUM is closed Monday, May 22nd for the holiday.

Family Fun at Bingemans

Website

Despite being known for its water park, Bingemans is open year-round and offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. For the May long weekend, they’re offering several specials. The FunworX package offers unlimited use of Rocks, Ropes and Play Structure, as well as pizza and drinks for a family of four. If bowling is more your speed, take them up on their bowling special for groups of 6. Or, buy one round and get one free at their Hole in Fun outdoor mini golf!

Food Forest Spring Festival

Website

The Guelph Food Forest and Hanlon Creek Neighbourhood Group are hosting their second annual Spring Festival. Featuring arts and crafts, refreshments and bubble soccer, it’s a great spot for some family fun. You can also plant and help to maintain the food forest in University Village Park.
